There are two deadlines looming for the £18m Collaborating across Digital Industries competition.
Aug 12: Deadline for submissions of optional expressions of interest
Aug 19: Deadline for submissions of compulsory expressions of interest.
If you are planning to get involved in this competition make sure you don't miss these deadlines. Check the full details in the competition papers that are available lower down this page.
Also, visit our Ideas Marketplace where people can find partners to collaborate with by posting details of the projects they are working on or the skills they have on offer to help other innovators.
To get more details about the competition we have two video interviews with Alex Stanhope from the competition organisers the Technology Strategy Board (TSB). In the first video Alex runs through the background to the £18m competition, the three key challenges it seeks to address, the types of consortium and the scope and scale of projects the TSB is looking for and the rules around match-funding.
Essential viewing for a successful application to the fund.
The Technology Strategy Board & Digital Test Beds from Creative Industries KTN.
In the second video Alex talks about the work of the TSB and it's role in developing Digital Testbeds and how this will drive the collaboration and innovation for the UK's digital and creative sectors.
Watch this video to get a handle on the work of the TSB and to set the context for their competitions for grant-funding of collaborative R&D.
More about this call
This will invite creative businesses to find technology partners from industry or academia and develop their plans.
Competition entries can pitch for projects of up to £99,000 as part of the fast track, or for larger projects of up to £2-3m, with grants available for up to 50% of the total project costs.
To help organisations across the UK we will be running a series of workshops during May and June.
More details about the digital test beds are available on the TSB web site.
And you can read the latest news from the TSB about the digital test beds.
The Partnering for Innovation programme is produced by the Creative Industries KTN with support from the Digital Communications KTN.
In the Digital Britain report, there was a commitment from the Technology Strategy Board to invest up to £30m in "Digital Services" to explore next generation networks and content. This programme is now being scoped out and shaped - join in this group to keep abreast of developments and find out how to get involved.
